Hello you and welcome to
I began creating these hand painted therapy pebbles to support some of my clients between our sessions. They help clients feel more grounded and provide a prompt to reflect on feelings and thoughts. I soon realised other people might like them too either to support emotional well-being or maybe as a compassionate gift.
Each of my Therapy Pebbles are thoughtfully designed with a symbol or scene to represent themes common in therapy. You can choose from reminders for building resilience, maintaining healthy boundaries and understanding different perspectives. Each one is unique, and painted by me on natural pebbles that vary in shape, colour and size. I’ve covered them with a lovely tactile resin that gives them protection and a great shine.
For Grounding and Calming
We all experience anxiety from time to time. When our brains detect potential threats, we are flooded with stress hormones that quicken our heartbeats, make us sweat and can give us digestive problems. Our brain’s prefrontal cortex (which helps with thinking and decision-making) may struggle to keep up, making us feel out of control. This can lead us into a “survival mode” loop, even if the threat started with just a worry or a fear
Understanding this cycle can help us recognise why we feel and react this way. Tools like deep breathing, grounding, or mindfulness can help calm the brain and body.
That’s where these Therapy Pebbles come in.
When you notice anxiety building, try holding one of the pebbles, maybe passing it between your hands or rolling it between your fingers. Focus on its weight, shape, design and textures as you touch it. This comforting sensory experience can be a simple but effective way to calm overwhelming emotions.
For Reflection
Making some time to think about our feelings helps us make sense of our experiences, beliefs and actions. Reflection encourages self-growth and self-awareness, helping us with our choices and learning to avoid repeating mistakes. This can increase our sense of purpose, self-esteem, and promote healthier relationships and habits.
Some people like to use these pebbles as a prompt to think about how they are feeling today. Choosing to take a few quiet moments away from all the distractions we face can feel so good. You can use them as a journalling starter or just be curious what holding it today brings for you.
